Goed nieuws voor fans van kip om de vingers bij af te likken: KFC breidt zich uit over het Verenigd Koninkrijk.

De fastfoodgigant heeft 535 plaatsen op de lijst gezet waar bazen hopen drive-thru-locaties, food court-balies of restaurants te openen.

KFC werd voor het eerst geïntroduceerd in het VK in 1965, met zijn eerste vestiging in Preston, maar tegenwoordig heeft het 850 verkooppunten in het land.

Maar dat is niet genoeg voor de kolonel.

Een woordvoerder van het bedrijf zei: 'We hebben gedurfde ambities om tegen 2020 meer dan 1.000 winkels in het VK en Ierland te hebben en we willen meer dan 50 nieuwe winkels per jaar bouwen.'
